Mizuno is a well-known name in the world of golf, especially when it comes to irons. The Mizuno JPX925 Hot Metal Pro irons are the latest addition to their lineup, offering all the performance elements of the standard model in a sleeker and more refined package. Designed with input from PGA professionals, these irons feature a shorter blade length, thinner top line, and less offset, making them visually appealing to serious players.

While the shelf appeal of the Mizuno JPX925 Hot Metal Pro irons may not be to everyone’s taste, the real magic happens when you address the ball. The heightened toe and overall profile of the clubs frame the ball beautifully, giving players confidence at address. With moderate levels of offset and a manageable top line, these irons offer a clean and tidy look that will suit the eye of a discerning golfer.

During testing at Saunton Golf Club, the Mizuno JPX925 Hot Metal Pro irons delivered good carry distance numbers, but there were a few outliers that caused concern. Some shots produced a significant drop in spin and came off hotter than expected, which could be problematic for better players who value consistency in their game. However, the outstanding sound and feel of these irons, combined with enhanced turf interaction, make them a top choice for mid-low handicap players.

One of the standout features of the Mizuno JPX925 Hot Metal Pro irons is their new shape, with a higher toe and shallower heel section. This design element enhances the club’s ability to exit swiftly and smoothly through the turf, providing players with a more consistent and reliable ball strike. The strong lofts of these irons also help boost output and reduce spin levels, making them suitable for players who struggle with excess spin or distance.

The Mizuno JPX925 Hot Metal Pro irons will be available in 4-GW for both left and right-handed golfers, with a stock shaft offering of Nippon NS Pro 950 NEO in steel and UST Recoil Dart ESX in graphite. The stock grip is a Lamkin UT+, and the irons are priced at an RRP of $150/£165 per iron. Overall, these irons are a great option for players looking for a compact, visually appealing iron that offers a balance of performance and playability on the course.
