The Top Five FedEx Cup Champions competing in the 2024 BMW Championship

The 2024 BMW Championship in Castle Rock, Colorado, features a field of 50 PGA Tour golfers, including 18 tournament winners from the same year. Among the competitors are five former FedEx Cup champions who are vying for a spot in the top 30 to advance to the season-ending Tour Championship. Scottie Scheffler, the current No. 1 in the FedEx Cup Playoffs points list, is looking to add a FedEx Cup title to his list of accomplishments as a two-time Masters champion and Olympic gold medalist.

Among the former FedEx Cup champions competing at the BMW Championship are Billy Horschel, who won the Tour Championship in 2014, Justin Thomas, who claimed the FedEx Cup in 2017, Patrick Cantlay, the 2021 Tour Championship winner, Rory McIlroy, who celebrated victory at the 2022 Tour Championship, and Viktor Hovland, the reigning 2023 Tour Championship champion. All five golfers are ranked in the top 22 in points and are eager to secure another title at Castle Pines Golf Club.

Billy Horschel, the winner of the 2014 Tour Championship, Justin Thomas, the 2017 FedEx Cup champion, Patrick Cantlay, who took home the FedEx Cup in 2021, Rory McIlroy, the 2022 Tour Championship victor, and Viktor Hovland, the 2023 Tour Championship titleholder, are all looking to add another FedEx Cup title to their resumes. With strong performances at the BMW Championship, these golfers hope to secure a spot in the top 30 and advance to the prestigious Tour Championship.

The BMW Championship is a key event in the FedEx Cup Playoffs, with the top players in the standings competing for valuable points and a chance to clinch the FedEx Cup title.
