Esther Henseleit may not be the favorite to win the AIG Women’s Open at St. Andrews, but she has been making waves with her impressive performances. Following her silver medal at the Olympics, second place finish at the ISPS Handa Women’s Scottish Open, and three top-15 finishes in major championships in 2024, Henseleit shot a six-under-par 66 in the third round at the Old Course, moving her up almost 50 places on the leaderboard.

Henseleit attributes her success to her improved putting, which she began working on with coach David Orr around 18 months ago. By adding finishing power to her solid long game, Henseleit has been able to make more birdies and alleviate pressure on her short game and iron play. She credits Orr with motivating and boosting her confidence, focusing on technique basics and mindset.

Despite not yet securing a victory on the LPGA Tour, Henseleit remains patient and confident that her time will come. She emphasizes the importance of good speed in putting, which has improved her performance on the greens. Henseleit’s strategic course management skills and her experience in team play from her amateur days make her a valuable asset to the European Solheim Cup team, led by captain Suzann Pettersen.

Henseleit’s rise to prominence in her fourth season on the LPGA Tour showcases her steady improvement and ability to compete at the highest level. Her consistency and strong performances at major events have garnered attention from fans and professionals alike. As she continues to fine-tune her game and gain more experience, Henseleit is poised for greater success in the future.

With her impressive results and dedication to improvement, Henseleit has proven herself as a rising star in the world of women’s golf. Her focus on the mental aspect of the game, combined with her technical skills and strategic approach, sets her apart from her competitors. As she looks forward to representing Europe in the Solheim Cup, Henseleit is eager to showcase her talents in a team setting and contribute to her team’s success.

Overall, Esther Henseleit’s story is one of perseverance, dedication, and talent. Her journey from a steady performer to a rising star is a testament to her hard work and commitment to her craft. With a strong support system in place and a clear vision for her future, Henseleit is well-positioned to achieve even greater success in the years to come. As she continues to make her mark on the LPGA Tour and beyond, Henseleit is a player to watch and admire for her skills on and off the golf course.
