The PGA Tour’s 2024 FedEx Fall Series kicks off with the Procore Championship in Napa Valley, formerly known as the Safeway Championship and Fortinet Championship. This event will feature a strong representation from both the U.S. and International teams competing in the upcoming Presidents Cup. U.S. captain Jim Furyk will be on site at the Silverado Resort, along with 10 other members of the two teams, including the team captains.

Defending tournament champion Sahith Theegala, two-time event winner Max Homa, and Wyndham Clark will be among the players representing the U.S. team at the Procore Championship. Furyk’s assistant captains Kevin Kisner and Stewart Cink will also be competing in the event. Cink, who recently won his first PGA Tour Champions event, previously won in Napa in 2000 when it was called the Safeway Championship. This year marks the 11th consecutive season that Silverado has hosted a PGA Tour stop.

On the International side, captain Mike Weir and assistant captain Camilo Villegas will be participating in the event, along with players Min Woo Lee, Corey Conners, and Mackenzie Hughes. Other notable commitments for the Procore Championship include Webb Simpson, Joel Dahmen, and rising stars Luke Clanton, Neal Shipley, and Wenyi Ding, who received sponsor exemptions to compete.

The Procore Championship is the first of eight Fall Series events on the PGA Tour, serving as the final event before the Presidents Cup in Montreal, Canada. The prestigious competition will take place at The Royal Montreal Golf Club from Sept. 24-29, attracting top players from around the world. The Procore Championship provides an opportunity for players to fine-tune their game before competing in this highly anticipated event.

The Procore Championship offers a unique opportunity for fans to see top golfers in action before the Presidents Cup, with a field that includes seasoned veterans and rising stars. The Silverado Resort provides a picturesque backdrop for the tournament, known for its challenging course layout and stunning views of Napa Valley. The event also serves as a platform for players to secure valuable FedEx Cup points and enhance their standing on the PGA Tour.

In addition to the competitive aspect of the Procore Championship, the event creates a platform for strategic discussions and team bonding among Presidents Cup teammates. Captains Furyk and Weir will have the chance to interact with their players and assess their form leading up to the prestigious event. The tournament serves as a crucial stepping stone for players looking to make an impact in the Presidents Cup and make a statement on the international stage.

Overall, the Procore Championship promises exciting golf action, fierce competition, and valuable preparation for the upcoming Presidents Cup. With a star-studded field and a stunning location, the event is sure to captivate fans and showcase the talent and skill of the world’s best golfers. As the PGA Tour’s Fall Series gets underway, the Procore Championship sets the stage for an exhilarating season ahead.
