Just four days after the intense Solheim Cup, 11 players from the competition, eight Europeans and three Americans, participated in the 2024 Kroger Queen City Championship near Cincinnati. Despite concerns about Solheim Cup fatigue, 10 out of the 11 players made the cut after 36 holes, showcasing their resilience and determination. The only player who did not advance to the weekend was Rose Zhang, who had an impressive 4-0-0 record in the Solheim Cup but missed the cut by a single shot after shooting 73-71. Despite showcasing her talent with two eagles in her Friday round, a double bogey ultimately cost her a spot in the weekend rounds.

Among the other Americans from the Solheim Cup competing in the Kroger Queen City Championship, Nelly Korda is tied for 15th after shooting 67-70, while Lexi Thompson is tied for 52nd with rounds of 71-71. On the European side, Anna Nordqvist leads the pack with rounds of 71-65, putting her in a tie for eighth place alongside teammate Albane Valenzuela. The competitive spirit and talent displayed by the Solheim Cup competitors has clearly carried over to this professional event, with several players performing well in the early rounds.

The leaderboard at the Kroger Queen City Championship is filled with Solheim Cup participants, with Europeans dominating the top positions. Alongside Nordqvist and Valenzuela, other European players in contention include Leona Maguire, Madelene Sagstrom, Charley Hull, Linn Grant, Georgia Hall, and Esther Henseleit. With the tournament still ongoing, it will be interesting to see how these players fare in the final rounds and if any of them can claim victory in this event.

Despite the strong showing by Solheim Cup participants, several notable players missed the cut at the Kroger Queen City Championship, including Aditi Ashok, Danielle Kang, Mina Harigae, Emma Talley, Amy Yang, Sophia Popov, and Gianna Clemente, a 16-year-old junior golfer from Ohio. While these players may not have advanced to the weekend rounds, their participation in the event showcases the depth and talent present in professional women’s golf, with both seasoned veterans and up-and-coming stars competing against each other on the same stage.

Overall, the 2024 Kroger Queen City Championship has been a testament to the skill and resilience of the Solheim Cup participants, who have shown no signs of slowing down despite the back-to-back competitions. With the leaderboard filled with both European and American players, the tournament promises to be a thrilling display of competitive golf. As the event continues, fans can expect more exciting moments and intense competition from some of the best female golfers in the world.
