New 2025 Titleist Pro V1 and Pro V1x to be unveiled at Shriners Children’s Open in Las Vegas

For years, professional golfers have trusted Titleist’s Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls to help them achieve success on the course. As players arrived at TPC Summerlin for the Shriners Children’s Open, they were introduced to the newest versions of these flagship golf balls: the 2025 Pro V1 and Pro V1x. While details about the new designs are being kept secret, the seeding process that began in Las Vegas marks the beginning of a new chapter in the Pro V1 story.

The Pro V1 was first introduced in October 2000 at the PGA Tour’s Invensys Classic in Las Vegas after five years of development in Fairhaven, Massachusetts. The goal was to create a ball that combined the advantages of both wound balata-covered balls and two-piece, solid-core balls. The Pro V1’s unique construction, featuring a large rubber core, firm mantle layer and soft urethane cover, provided players with distance off the tee, consistency with irons, and spin control with wedges.

The Pro V1 quickly gained popularity among players, with 47 immediately switching to the ball at the Invensys Classic, including tournament winner Billy Andrade and runner-up Phil Mickelson. The buzz surrounding the Pro V1 continued to grow, leading to its early retail release in December 2000 and becoming the best-selling golf ball in the market within just four months of its debut.

In 2003, Titleist introduced the Pro V1x as a companion to the Pro V1, offering a four-piece ball with a dual-core design for a firmer feel and higher flight. Both the Pro V1 and Pro V1x have undergone regular updates every two years, with the Pro V1 becoming the most-played ball in men’s major championships since its debut and holding strong percentages in elite amateur events and professional tours.

As players and fans await the release of the 2025 Pro V1 and Pro V1x, they can expect refinements in distance, greenside control, and overall feel, rather than radical changes. Previous iterations have featured redesigned aerodynamic packages and core technologies to enhance performance. The new models are expected to be available to the public in January 2025, following their seeding on the PGA Tour.

In conclusion, the Pro V1 and Pro V1x have a rich history of success on the course, and the upcoming 2025 versions are sure to continue that tradition. With a legacy of innovation and performance, Titleist’s flagship golf balls remain a top choice for players at all levels of the game, setting the standard for excellence in golf ball technology.
