The 2024 Butterfield Bermuda Championship kicked off with an exciting first round, with Justin Lower and Hayden Springer tying for the lead after posting impressive scores. Lower, coming off a top five finish in Mexico, shot a bogey-free 6-under 65 to share the lead with Springer. The duo is closely followed by Patrick Rodgers and Joseph Bramlett. Camilo Villegas, the defending champion of the Butterfield Bermuda Championship, will be looking to defend his title at Port Royal, a well-regarded course designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. that ranks 28th on Golfweek’s Best Top 50 courses in the Mexico, Caribbean, Atlantic islands, and Central America region.

The 16th hole at Port Royal is particularly challenging, with a 235-yard, par-3 setup that features a cliff hanging over the left side, adding to the drama and difficulty of the hole. The purse for the Butterfield Bermuda Championship is $6.9 million, with the winner set to take home $1.242 million and 500 FedEx Cup points. The competition is fierce, with a strong field of players vying for the top spot. The second round of the championship promises to bring more excitement, with players like Austin Cook, Bill Haas, and Francesco Molinari teeing off at different times throughout the day.

With an exciting leaderboard and a challenging course venue, the 2024 Butterfield Bermuda Championship is shaping up to be a thrilling event for both players and spectators alike. As players continue to battle it out for the top spot, fans can expect to witness intense rivalries, clutch shots, and nail-biting moments that define championship golf.

The lineup for the second round of the Butterfield Bermuda Championship features a mix of seasoned veterans and rising stars, each with their own unique playing style and strategy. The leaderboard is tightly packed, with opportunities for players to make a run for the lead or make a comeback with a strong round. As the tournament progresses, the pressure will only mount, testing the mental and physical fortitude of the competitors vying for victory. With a significant prize purse and valuable FedEx Cup points up for grabs, every shot counts towards determining the eventual champion of the Butterfield Bermuda Championship.
