After a slow start to the FedEx Cup Fall, Maverick McNealy has been on fire with high-level golf performances in recent tournaments. Despite missing the cut in his first two starts, McNealy has shown remarkable improvement with finishes of T-16 at the Shriners, T-6 at the World Wide Technology, and T-17 at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship. Now, McNealy finds himself in contention for his first PGA Tour win at The RSM Classic, just one round away from potentially achieving this milestone.

In the third round of The RSM Classic, McNealy signed for a solid 4-under 66, which propelled him to a share of the 54-hole lead along with Vince Whaley. Despite making two bogeys on the front nine, McNealy managed to cancel them out with three birdies before making the turn at 1 under. Throughout his final nine holes, McNealy continued his strong play by sinking three more birdies, showcasing his exceptional putting skills that have earned him the fifth spot in Strokes Gained: Putting through three rounds. Additionally, McNealy has been performing well in other aspects of his game, ranking 21st in SG: Off the Tee, fourth in SG: Approach, and 22nd in SG: Around the Green.

While McNealy has come close to victory before, finishing runner-up twice in his career, he now has the chance to break through and claim his first PGA Tour win at The RSM Classic. Alongside McNealy at the top of the leaderboard is Vince Whaley, who has been on a hot streak with an impressive 7-under 63 in the third round. Whaley’s consistent play and strong tournament history put him in a favorable position heading into the final round.

Daniel Berger, a former world No. 12, is also making a comeback with a stellar third-round performance at The RSM Classic. After being sidelined due to injury for 19 months, Berger is aiming for his first win since 2021 and fifth overall. A strong showing in the final round could lift Berger towards a victory and a significant rise in the FedEx Cup standings, where he currently sits at No. 127.

As the tournament reaches its conclusion, the leaderboard is tightly contested with players like Mackenzie Hughes, Michael Thorbjornsen, and Patrick Fishburn also in the mix. The odds to win are closely monitored, with Whaley and McNealy leading the pack with the best chances, followed by contenders like Berger, Hughes, and Thorbjornsen. The final round promises to deliver exciting golf action as these players battle it out for the title at The RSM Classic.

The competition at The RSM Classic is fierce, with top players showcasing their skills and battling for a chance to claim victory on the PGA Tour. McNealy, Whaley, Berger, and other contenders are all vying for the opportunity to hoist the trophy and make their mark in the world of professional golf. As fans eagerly await the final round, the stage is set for an exciting finish at Sea Island Golf Club, where the destiny of the tournament champion will be decided. Stay tuned for the thrilling conclusion of The RSM Classic to see who emerges victorious and etches their name in golfing history.
