Bridgestone has recently reentered the iron and wedge market with the launch of the Bridgestone 220 MB, 221 CB, and 222 CB+ irons, along with the BRM2 wedges. These forged offerings are designed for accomplished golfers, ranging from elite ball strikers and tour players to college golfers seeking the ultimate in precision and control on the course.

The Bridgestone 220 MB irons are pure muscleback blades that prioritize control and precision for players with powerful, repeatable swings. These irons feature traditional lofts, with a 5-iron at 26 degrees and a pitching wedge at 46 degrees. The 220 MB has the thinnest topline, narrowest sole, and least offset of the three models, catering to players who demand the utmost in shot shaping ability.

For golfers looking for a touch of forgiveness without sacrificing feel and control, the Bridgestone 221 CB irons offer a cavity-back design forged from a single piece of stainless steel. The 4-iron and 5-iron feature a dual pocket-cavity design to lower the center of gravity, helping players achieve higher, softer long-iron shots. The 6-iron through pitching wedge have varying center-of-gravity locations to optimize spin and improve control on approach shots.

The most forgiving of the three irons, the Bridgestone 222 CB+ features a dual pocket-cavity design throughout the set, not just in the long irons. This design lowers the center of gravity and increases launch angles across all clubs, making it easier for players to get the ball in the air and achieve maximum distance. The 222 CB+ also has a wider sole, which helps the irons glide more easily through the turf for players with steep swings.

Bridgestone’s decision to reenter the iron and wedge market comes after focusing its club sales primarily in Asia for several years. The reintroduction of the 220 MB, 221 CB, and 222 CB+ irons, along with the BRM2 wedges, reflects the company’s commitment to providing high-quality equipment for golfers of all skill levels. With a focus on precision, control, and forgiveness, these forged offerings are sure to make an impact on the market in December 2024 and beyond.

In summary, Bridgestone’s new line of irons and wedges is designed to cater to the needs of accomplished golfers looking for the ultimate in performance and control on the course. Whether you are an elite ball striker, tour player, college golfer, or low single-digit handicap player seeking forgiveness with a classic look, Bridgestone’s 220 MB, 221 CB, and 222 CB+ irons are sure to impress. With their forged stainless steel construction and innovative designs, these clubs offer a combination of precision, control, and forgiveness that is unmatched in the industry.
