LIV Golf is a professional golf league with more than 50 players who compete in a 14-event circuit, but many of them also choose to play in other tournaments around the world to earn world ranking points and stay busy. Since LIV Golfers are suspended from the PGA Tour, Korn Ferry Tour, and PGA Tour Champions, they often participate in events on the Asian Tour as well as in countries like South Africa, Japan, and Australasia. In 2023, several LIV players achieved success on a global scale, with wins at prestigious events such as the US Open and Senior Majors.

One player who stood out in 2024 was David Puig, a talented Spaniard who claimed his second Asian Tour title by winning the Malaysian Open in February. Puig impressed with back-to-back 62s to finish at 23-under-par and secure the victory. Another standout performer was Carlos Ortiz, who won the International Series Oman on the Asian Tour in February, as well as the LIV Golf Houston event later in the year. Ortiz finished at 19-under-par to defeat Louis Oosthuizen by four strokes.

Kieran Vincent, a former Legion XIII player, made a name for himself by winning the Kit Kat Cash and Carry Pro-Am on the Sunshine Tour in May. Vincent, who was relegated from the LIV Golf League after earning his spot in 2023, proved his talent by finishing at 21-under-par and winning by four strokes. Richard Bland had a remarkable year at the age of 51, winning both the Senior PGA Championship and the US Senior Open, securing his spot in prestigious events like the PGA Championship and US Open.

Bryson DeChambeau, known as the Golfing Scientist, won his second US Open by defeating Rory McIlroy at Pinehurst No. 2. DeChambeau’s victory propelled him back into the world’s top 10 and solidified his status as one of golf’s biggest stars. Peter Uihlein, a former World No. 1 amateur, ended a three-year winless drought by winning the International Series England in August and the International Series Qatar in November. Uihlein’s strong performances showcased his talent and resilience on the Asian Tour.

Jinichiro Kozuma, a Japanese player who earned his spot in LIV Golf via the Promotions Event in 2023, secured his card for another year by winning the Sansan KBC Augusta on the Japan Golf Tour. Patrick Reed, the 2018 Masters champion, made history by shooting a 59 at the Hong Kong Open, marking his first victory in over three-and-a-half years. Lucas Herbert, a DP World Tour and PGA Tour winner, emerged victorious at the NSW Open on the PGA Tour of Australasia, while Dean Burmester claimed his first LIV Golf title at the Vodacom Origins of Golf Final on the Sunshine Tour.

Joaquin Niemann had a breakout year in 2024, winning two LIV Golf titles, shooting a 59, finishing second in the LIV Golf League standings, and winning the Saudi International on the Asian Tour. Niemann’s impressive performances solidified his status as a rising star in professional golf. Overall, the success of LIV Golfers in various tournaments around the world highlights the depth and talent within the league, showcasing their ability to compete and excel on a global stage.
