The 2025 LIV Golf League is set to kick off on the 6th February in Riyadh, with a lot of movement expected in terms of trades and new players. Last year saw big names like Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton join the PIF-backed circuit, so fans are wondering if there will be similar moves in 2025. While most of the schedule is confirmed, there are still spots on the 13 four-man teams that need to be filled.

One notable trade already in the books is Thomas Pieters moving from RangeGoats GC to Dustin Johnson’s 4Aces GC. Additionally, following the LIV Golf Promotions Event, a new player is set to join the League. However, there are reports that player Eugenio Chacarra will not be returning after opting not to sign with a new team. Several players who were relegated last season, such as Bubba Watson and Branden Grace, will be vying for a chance to return to the League at the Promotions Event.

Speculation is rife about potential captaincy changes and player swaps as the first event approaches in February. Teams like Fireballs GC, Cleeks GC, and Legion XIII GC are currently short of players, so there could be some surprises in store. Additionally, the return of players like Watson, who was relegated in 2024, is being discussed based on a “business case.” It will be interesting to see how teams shape up before the start of the season.

As of now, some teams have their four-man rosters confirmed for 2025, but there could still be changes in the coming months. Teams like Ripper GC and Crushers GC have their quartets in place, while others like Fireballs GC and Iron Heads GC are still in need of players. With the first event drawing near, fans can expect some player swaps and last-minute additions to round out the teams.

The LIV Golf League schedule for 2025 includes stops in Riyadh, Adelaide, Hong Kong, Singapore, Korea, Dallas, Andalucia, UK, Chicago, and Indianapolis. With a mix of familiar venues and new additions, the upcoming season promises to be an exciting one for players and fans alike. Stay tuned for more updates on trades, new players, and team formations as the 2025 LIV Golf League gets underway.
