Tiger Woods Swings at TGL Simulator

Tiger Woods is set to make his competitive return to action after missing the cut at The Open in July. He has been testing out the giant simulator for the TGL, a tech-infused contest he will be participating in with Rory McIlroy. The simulator is 64 feet by 46 feet, making it around 20 times bigger than most normal simulators. The competition will also feature a short-game complex with virtual greens and real-life putting space.

The TGL was originally scheduled to launch a year ago but was delayed due to damage to the arena’s air-supported roof. The first matchup will take place on 7th January between New York Golf Club and The Bay Golf Club. Woods’ Jupiter Links Golf Club will debut a week later against Colin Morikawa’s Los Angeles Golf Club. Woods underwent his sixth back surgery in September, ruling him out of last week’s Hero World Challenge. Fans will be excited to see his smooth swing in action as he prepares for the TGL.

A short clip of Woods hitting his tee shot into the simulator was shared on ESPN’s Instagram account, giving fans a glimpse of what to expect in the upcoming competition. Billy Horschel, one of the 24 players signed up for the TGL, described the set-up as ‘unreal’ after getting an early look at it in November. The footage of Woods’ swing in the simulator confirms Horschel’s excitement and builds anticipation for the competition.

The TGL will take place at the SoFi Center at Palm Beach State College in Florida, offering a unique and innovative setting for the event. The competition will feature top players like Xander Schauffele and Ludvig Aberg, adding to the excitement for fans. Woods’ return to competitive action is eagerly awaited, especially after his recent surgery and absence from the golfing scene. The TGL promises to be a thrilling competition with a high level of competition and cutting-edge technology.

The TGL marks a new era in competitive golf, blending technology with traditional competition to create a unique and engaging experience for players and fans alike. The anticipation for the TGL is at an all-time high, with fans eagerly counting down the days until the competition kicks off in January. Woods’ involvement in the event adds to the excitement, with many looking forward to seeing the golfing legend back in action.
