4 Key Facts about TaylorMade’s 2025 P790 Irons

The TaylorMade P790 irons have been a popular choice for golfers since their debut in 2017. Now, with the introduction of the fifth generation of the P790, TaylorMade has brought in new features to enhance the performance of these clubs. One of the key updates is the use of a new 4340M forged face material, which is 20 percent stronger than the previous material. This allows for a thinner face, resulting in faster ball speeds and a larger sweet spot for more consistent distances.

In addition to the new face material, the new P790 irons also feature FLTD CG technology, which helps optimize the center of gravity placement in each iron. This technology allows for better launch angles in the longer irons and increased stability in the mid-irons. The short irons are designed without tungsten, allowing for a higher center of gravity to promote lower ball flight and greater control. These improvements in CG placement help golfers achieve better performance throughout their set of irons.

Furthermore, the new P790 irons have been re-shaped to appeal to better players. The thinner topline and unique sole design enhance the clean look at address and improve turf interaction and impact location. The logo has also been moved to the center of the back of the iron, matching the design of other TaylorMade irons like the P770 and P7CB. These changes contribute to a premium forged feel and improved sound and feel when hitting the ball.

TaylorMade’s dedication to individual head optimization has led to a next-level sound and feel in the new P790 irons. By using T-modal analysis to predict the sound frequencies of each iron head, TaylorMade was able to enhance the overall performance while maintaining the high-quality standards that the P790 irons are known for. This attention to detail and precision engineering ensures that each golfer can experience a superior feel with every shot.

Overall, the 2025 TaylorMade P790 irons offer a blend of advanced technology, improved shaping, and individual optimization, making them a versatile and reliable choice for a wide range of players. Whether you are looking for increased distance, better control, or enhanced feel, these irons deliver on all fronts. With their innovative features and superior performance, the P790 irons continue to set the standard in the Players Distance category and uphold TaylorMade’s reputation as a global leader in golf equipment innovation.
