Review of the TaylorMade Qi35 Max Driver

In 2025, TaylorMade is introducing the Qi35 family of drivers, with the Max model offering maximum forgiveness and strong performance across the face. The design of the Qi35 Max driver focuses on three pillars: Form, Function, and Fit, with the aim of providing options for a wide range of golfers.

The crown of the TaylorMade Qi35 Max driver features a black graphite composite that can appear dark grey in certain lighting conditions. The shape is described as “high inertia”, with fine pinstripes on the trailing edge and a small logo denoting the center of the face. The sole continues the composite theme with pops of green and angular recesses for added interest.

The fourth generation carbon Twist Face on the TaylorMade Qi35 Max driver features reflective fitting markers on the face, which are beneficial for fitters using launch monitors. The driver also maintains a light grey segment on the top edge for ease of alignment. The overall look of the driver represents a true evolution from the previous Qi10 series.

The sound and feel of the TaylorMade Qi35 Max driver are described as powerful and satisfying. The driver produces a solid crack with minimal feedback, reflective of its high moment of inertia (MOI) design. Despite the carbon materials used in construction, the driver emits a pleasant sound at impact.

On the performance front, the TaylorMade Qi35 Max driver excels in Smash Factor, averaging an impressive 1.51. The driver’s focus on maximizing MOI and lowering the center of gravity (CoG) projection allows for more forgiveness and distance on off-center strikes. The driver is designed for a mid spin and mid-high launch, with a slight draw flight bias.

Overall, the TaylorMade Qi35 Max driver offers impressive forgiveness and consistency off the tee box. The driver’s design improvements, such as the Inertia Generator weight port and lowered CoG projection, contribute to its strong performance. For golfers seeking a driver that delivers maximum forgiveness and distance across the face, the TaylorMade Qi35 Max driver is worth considering.
