Justin Thomas, the RBC Heritage champion, recently sealed his 16th PGA Tour victory with a playoff win at the Harbour Town Golf Links. Thomas, who is currently ranked World No. 5, triumphed over Andrew Novak to secure his first win since 2022. This victory came with stand-in caddie Joe Greiner on the bag, as Thomas’ regular caddie, Matt Minister, was recovering from a back injury. Greiner, who was previously working with Max Homa, teamed up with Thomas at Augusta National and helped him achieve a T36th finish before their successful week at the RBC Heritage.

Thomas expressed his gratitude towards Greiner for stepping in during Minister’s absence, stating that he was very much a fill-in due to Minister’s injury. However, despite their successful partnership, Thomas is eagerly anticipating Minister’s return to his bag. The Louisville, Kentucky-born pro acknowledged Greiner’s contributions during key moments of the tournament, highlighting his comfort level and rapport with the stand-in caddie. Thomas emphasized Greiner’s hard work and positive attitude, noting that they had a lot of fun on the course together.

In an interview with Sirius XM’s Drew Stoltz and Colt Knost, Thomas emphasized his excitement for Minister’s return and expressed his appreciation for Greiner’s temporary assistance. The PGA Tour star confirmed that Greiner was instrumental in his victory at the RBC Heritage, particularly during crucial moments on Sunday. Thomas and Greiner’s partnership proved to be successful, with the stand-in caddie likely receiving a significant bonus for their triumph. Despite their success, Thomas is looking forward to reuniting with Minister and continuing their journey together on the PGA Tour.

Thomas’ win at the RBC Heritage marked a significant career milestone for the talented golfer, who has established himself as one of the top players on the Tour. His victory, coupled with Greiner’s temporary caddying duties, showcased the importance of teamwork and resilience in professional golf. Thomas’ success is a testament to his skill, determination, and ability to adapt to changing circumstances on the course. As he looks ahead to future tournaments, Thomas remains focused on his goals and is determined to build on his recent triumph at the RBC Heritage.
