Will Tiger Woods Compete in TGL? Update on the Golf Legend’s Status in the Indoor League

TGL Indoor Golf League: Season 2 Kicks Off Amid Tiger Woods’ Injury Concerns

The highly anticipated second season of the TGL indoor golf league officially tees off today at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens. The inaugural season saw remarkable success, particularly in television ratings, leading to the league’s return, even as it coincides with an NFL Sunday afternoon.

Tiger Woods: A Central Figure in TGL

A pivotal force behind the TGL league is none other than Tiger Woods, who played a significant role in its creation. This six-team league features a roster filled with PGA Tour stars, making it an exciting spectacle for golf fans. Woods, a considerable draw for this new venture, holds a vital place in the league’s narrative.

However, fans are left wondering: how soon will we see Tiger Woods back on the tee during the TGL, particularly given his recent injuries?

Tiger Woods’ Injury Timeline

In March 2025, Woods, now 50, revealed that he had suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon, which led to him missing key PGA Tour championships. Over the past 15 years, Woods’ illustrious career has been overshadowed by various injuries, impacting his knees, back, and the physical aftermath of a severe car accident in 2021.

The injury saga continued in October when Woods announced he underwent surgery to replace a disc in his back. Consequently, he missed both the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas—an event he hosts—and the PNC Championship, a tournament he traditionally plays with his son, Charlie, in December.

Tiger Woods’ TGL Availability

In early December, Woods confirmed he would miss the initial part of the TGL season. He represents the Jupiter Links Golf Club, named after the South Florida city that is home to the golf icon. While he mentioned that he had started practicing putting and chipping, he has yet to resume hitting drives, a crucial requirement for participation in the indoor league.

Conclusion

As the TGL enters its second season, fans eagerly await updates on Tiger Woods’ health and his potential participation in upcoming matches. The NBA and NFL seasons may dominate the sports calendar, but golf fans remain captivated by the unfolding drama surrounding one of the sport’s greatest figures.

Stay tuned for more updates on Tiger Woods and the TGL league as the season progresses.
