Golf enthusiasts are flocking to Bandon Dunes, a resort on the Oregon coast that offers five regulation courses and two par-3 designs. Since its opening 25 years ago, Bandon Dunes has expanded to include multiple courses and has gained a devoted following. The resort recently announced a new reservation process for 2026, dividing the year into three periods with registration windows and random drawings to determine the order of reservation requests. This new system aims to provide a fair opportunity for all guests to secure a room at the popular destination.

The surge in post-pandemic play has intensified the demand for Bandon Dunes, making it increasingly difficult for golfers to book accommodations. While tee times are more accessible, securing one of the 210 guest rooms on the property can be challenging. Bandon Dunes is actively working to improve the reservation process and provide the best possible experience for guests. The resort’s general manager, Jeff Simonds, stated that they are continually adapting and striving to enhance the booking process for everyone.

To address the overwhelming demand for reservations, Bandon Dunes has implemented a random drawing and outbound booking approach for 2026. This new system aims to streamline the process, save time for guests and staff, and ensure a fair allocation of reservations. Golfers can now register online for the three reservation periods in 2026 and wait to see if their entry is selected in the random drawing. This lottery-style method is similar to ticket lotteries for high-demand sporting events such as the Masters or Ryder Cup.

Despite the challenges of booking accommodations at Bandon Dunes, visitors can still enjoy the resort’s top-notch golf courses by staying off-site. The property continues to expand its accommodations, with plans to construct more lodging near one of its courses. While the completion date for this project has not been announced, Bandon Dunes is committed to enhancing the guest experience and accommodating the growing number of golfers eager to visit the resort.

If you are planning a trip to Bandon Dunes in 2025, you can inquire about tee times for your desired dates and ask to be placed on the waitlist for room reservations. As an alternative, you can book lodging off-site to ensure you have accommodations during your visit. The resort’s new reservation process for 2026 offers golfers a chance to secure a room through a random drawing, providing a fair opportunity for all guests to experience the world-renowned courses at Bandon Dunes. With its breathtaking coastal setting and exceptional golf offerings, Bandon Dunes continues to attract golfers from around the world.
