Payntr Golf has recently introduced the Eighty Seven SC, a limited-release golf shoe that was created in collaboration with major champion Jason Day. Featuring a design that incorporates subtle references to Day’s birth year and favorite number, the Eighty Seven SC is the result of over 10 months of close collaboration between product engineers and the former World No. 1 golfer. This shoe is the first collaborative collection between Payntr Golf and a professional golfer, marking a significant step forward for the brand in the golf space.
Jason Day personally wore a prototype of the Eighty Seven SC during the 2024 season, providing valuable feedback and insights to the design process. The shoe boasts a range of performance features, including waterproofing, breathability, and maximum comfort with a performance-foam filler and PMX Nitro+ injected 3D-molded footbed. According to Day, the goal of the collaboration was to create a golf shoe that offers a true performance advantage without sacrificing style or comfort, and he believes that they have achieved that with the Eighty Seven SC.
Mike Forsey, co-founder and president of Payntr Golf, praised Day’s contributions to the collaboration, noting that the golfer’s expertise and passion for the game are evident in every aspect of the Eighty Seven SC. The shoe is more than just a golf shoe; it is a game-changer that sets a new standard for what golfers can expect from their footwear. Payntr Golf and Jason Day have plans to release three more models in this collection in 2025, further expanding their collaborative offerings in the golf shoe market.
The Payntr Eighty Seven SC is currently available for purchase at a retail price of $220. Featuring a CLARINO Trivela™️ microfiber upper, a waterproof and breathable membrane, ARIAPRENE® tongue and bootie for foot lockdown, a TPU outsole with Fast Twist insert system, and PMXNitro+ cushioning technology, the Eighty Seven SC offers a combination of lightweight support, flexibility, and traction for golfers. The shoe also includes a PMXNitro+ Midsole for energy return and underfoot support, and a CARBITEX GearFlex™️ propulsion plate for harnessing ground reaction forces effectively.
