The Titleist GT1 is part of the GT hybrid lineup, which includes two other models, the GT2 and the GT3. The GT1 has been designed to offer the highest launch thanks to its super lightweight design, making it ideal for golfers who want maximum height and launch when hitting their hybrids from the deck. The GT3, on the other hand, provides a more penetrating flight and high levels of workability, while the GT2 offers a mixture of forgiveness and power in a mid-sized head.

One of the key features of the GT1 hybrid is its large head size, which provides a lot of confidence at address. While some better players may prefer a smaller, more compact head, the larger size of the GT1 can be appealing for golfers who struggle with smaller heads. The GT1 also offers flexibility with weight ports on the sole that can be adjusted to increase stability and forgiveness or to change the ball flight characteristics.

During testing with a Launch Monitor, the GT1 hybrid was found to launch significantly higher than the other two models in the lineup, with an average launch angle of 12.3°. The club also produced a relatively high ball speed and a descent angle of 45.2°, which makes it efficient for striking the ball from the deck and playing into the green. The lower and further back center of gravity (CG) of the GT1 increases the launch and provides plenty of spin, making it a good option for golfers with slower swing speeds.

The GT1 hybrid is particularly well-suited for higher handicappers and golfers looking for a forgiving club that performs well from the rough. The club’s design features bright score lines on the face, which can help with alignment and accuracy. The GT hybrids are priced at $329/£299, which may be considered expensive, but for golfers in the market for a versatile and user-friendly hybrid, the GT1 is worth considering. Overall, the GT1 offers a lightweight head, plenty of forgiveness, and high launch capabilities, making it a solid choice for golfers looking to improve their game with a reliable hybrid option.
