This year’s U.S. Open will be the fourth held at Pinehurst No. 2 and the first to be played at the course since it was named as a U.S. Open anchor site. With the USGA establishing new headquarters in Pinehurst, the national championship will now visit the course approximately once every five years. This move solidifies Pinehurst’s status as a premier destination for championship golf.

The last time the U.S. Open was held at Pinehurst was in 2014, when Martin Kaymer secured a dominant victory by eight shots.
