Owen McCall, a senior member of the Marshfield High golf team in Massachusetts, had a memorable finish to his high school golf career on Senior Day. On the ninth hole at the Marshfield Country Club, McCall hit a perfect tee shot that ended up as a hole-in-one. This remarkable shot was captured on video by the Marshfield Student Broadcasting team, making it even more unbelievable. McCall, who has been a four-year member of the golf team, was described as a great captain and a really nice kid by head coach Matt Murphy.

The Marshfield High golf team recently competed in the Division 1 South Sectional Tournament at Acushnet River Valley, where they placed sixth as a team. Senior JD Ambrose led the way with a score of 78, and other team members also performed well despite challenging windy conditions on the course. The Rams finished the season with a match record of 12-4, and coach Murphy expressed confidence in the talent returning for next year, although he will miss the seniors who are leaving the program.

Reflecting on the season, Murphy noted that it was not an easy course to play at the Division 1 South Sectional Tournament, but the team did well overall. Junior Justin Ford and Gavin McDonough had solid performances, along with junior Ben Berian, senior Max Albert, and junior Will Noyes. The team from Xaverian Brothers ultimately won the championship, but the Rams had a successful season and showed great potential for the future.

McCall’s hole-in-one on Senior Day was a storybook ending to his high school golf career, and he was grateful for the opportunity to finish on such a high note. As a member of the Marshfield Student Broadcasting team, McCall was able to capture the moment on video, which will be a lasting memory for him and his teammates. The support from parents and fans on Senior Day added to the special moment, and McCall’s teammates and coach were proud of his achievement.

In conclusion, Owen McCall’s hole-in-one on his final high school shot was a remarkable feat that highlighted his dedication and skill as a golfer. The Marshfield High golf team had a successful season and competed well in the Division 1 South Sectional Tournament, showcasing the talent and potential of the team. Coach Murphy’s leadership and the camaraderie among team members contributed to their success, and the future looks promising for the program. McCall’s unforgettable moment on Senior Day will be cherished as a testament to hard work, perseverance, and the thrill of the game of golf.
