Former U.S. president Donald Trump is set to open a new championship links golf course in Scotland next summer. The course, located near Balmedie in Aberdeenshire, will offer stunning views across the North Sea. Trump International, Scotland stated that the course will be one of the most environmentally-friendly and sustainable ever built. The new 18-hole links course is designed to complement the existing world-ranked championship links at Trump International.

The new championship links course has been designed by a team of international architects, designers, professional golfers, and industry experts. It follows the original links masterplan led by renowned golf architect Dr. Martin Hawtree. The course features a unique combination of topographical areas including sand dunes, heather-clad heathlands, and wetland areas. Golflink Evolve, a company specializing in new links course construction, was appointed as the principal contractor for the project.

Sarah Malone, Executive Vice President of Trump International Scotland, expressed excitement about the progress of the new course. She highlighted the exceptional quality of the design and construction, stating that the course is exceeding expectations. Golfing legends such as John Daly and Paul McGinley have praised the course, recognizing it as a spectacular addition to the golfing landscape of Scotland.

The course has been built with a strong emphasis on environmental sustainability. Clare Barber, Principal Director of Fairhurst – Project Engineers, emphasized the importance of engineering solutions that enhance the natural landscape and biodiversity of the site. Esie O’Mahoney, principal golf contractor at Golflink Evolve, lauded the project for its environmentally-friendly approach in sourcing materials and developing an energy efficient water system.

Robert Maxfield, Chief Executive Officer of the Professional Golfers’ Association, hailed the new course as a gift to the game of golf. He praised Trump International for their commitment to excellence in building world-class golf facilities. The course is expected to be accessible to all golfers, offering a unique experience in a historic golfing destination in the North East of Scotland.

In related news, Donald Trump’s Turnberry golf course in South Ayrshire is set to have the highest green fees in the world from next year. The Ailsa Course at Turnberry, purchased by Trump in 2014, will see green fees for non-residents rise to £1000 before 1 p.m. and £545 after that time. This move aims to prioritize tee times for members and guests of the hotel at Turnberry.

Overall, Donald Trump’s investment in golf courses in Scotland continues to make a significant impact on the golfing landscape. The new championship links course at Trump International promises to be a world-class destination for golf enthusiasts, with a strong focus on environmental sustainability and excellence in design and construction. The addition of this course is expected to further enhance Scotland’s reputation as a premier golfing destination.
