Jon Rahm proved once again that he is a force to be reckoned with in professional golf as he secured a victory at the 2024 LIV Golf Chicago at Bolingbrook. This win marked Rahm’s second victory in three events, solidifying his dominance in the sport. Rahm’s performance throughout the tournament was nothing short of impressive, finishing with a 4-under 66 in the final round and a total score of 11 under for the week, putting him three shots ahead of both Joaquin Niemann and Sergio Garcia.

Not only did Rahm’s victory at the Chicago event earn him a significant $4 million prize, but it also clinched him the season-long individual championship and the $18 million prize that came along with it. This win was particularly special for Rahm as it was his first year participating in the LIV Golf League, showing that he was able to quickly establish himself as a formidable competitor in this new arena. Throughout the year, Rahm consistently performed well, never finishing worse than T-10 in any of his 12 events.

Despite some tough competition, including Niemann who also had two wins under his belt, Rahm’s skill and tenacity on the course ultimately led him to victory. Even with Niemann shooting a bogey-free 66 in the final round, it was Rahm’s exceptional play, highlighted by a crucial birdie on the par-3 17th hole, that secured his position as the champion. This win not only solidified Rahm’s status as a top player in the league but also showcased his ability to perform under pressure and come out on top.

In the team competition, Bryson DeChambeau’s Crushers GC emerged victorious, earning them the first seed for the upcoming LIV Golf Team Championship at Maridoe in Dallas. This win was a significant achievement for the Crushers GC, who had also won the team title the previous season. Rahm’s Legion XIII secured the second seed, while Cameron Smith’s Ripper GC claimed the third spot with an opening bye. However, IronHeads GC found themselves at the bottom of the team standings, meaning they would not be participating in the next week’s event.

As the golf world continues to watch Rahm’s impressive performances and consistent success on the course, it is clear that he is a player to keep an eye on in future tournaments. With his recent victories and season-long championship title, Rahm has undoubtedly secured his place among the elite golfers in the LIV Golf League. As he looks forward to the next challenges that lie ahead, Rahm’s fans and competitors alike can expect to see more exciting and inspiring moments from this talented athlete in the future.
