Kai Trump Sidelined by Wrist Surgery: A Setback in Her Rising Golf Career
Kai Trump, the eldest granddaughter of former U.S. President Donald J. Trump, is taking a break from her promising golf career as she undergoes rehabilitation following wrist surgery. The senior at the Benjamin School shared the news of her left wrist surgery on January 7, aimed at treating injuries that have impacted her ability to play.
Details of the Surgery
In a personal Instagram post, Trump explained that the procedure focused on repairing the stabilizing tissues of her extensor carpi ulnaris (ECU) tendon, as well as addressing damage to her triangular fibrocartilage complex. The successful operation was performed by Dr. Thomas Graham at the Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute in Pennsylvania.
Future Plans
As a signee for the University of Miami’s women’s golf team in the Class of 2026, Trump is determined to resume her golf activities pain-free. She has committed to a rigorous rehabilitation process over the coming months to achieve her goal.
Recent Performance
Kai made headlines when she debuted on the LPGA Tour at The Annika Invitational in November, where she participated on a sponsor’s exemption. Despite missing the cut at 18-over, her performance exceeded expectations, showcasing her potential within a competitive field.
In the fall, Trump also contributed to her high school’s girls’ golf team but chose to forgo postseason tournaments to focus on her LPGA opportunity. Her efforts were recognized when she was named second team All-County by The Post in December.
