Lydia Ko is back in the hunt on the LPGA tour after a successful start to the season with a win and a second-place finish. However, she has not posted a top-10 finish since early March, with her recent performances ranging from T-39 to missed cuts. Despite needing just one more point to achieve entry into the LPGA Hall of Fame, Ko remains unfazed by the pressure, stating that being one point away is easier than being two.

Ko acknowledges that if it is meant to be for her to be in the Hall of Fame, it will happen, and she is focused on playing her best golf regardless of the outcome. She emphasizes the importance of playing without high expectations, especially since she has not been in contention as much in recent months. With important events like the Olympics and British Open on the horizon, Ko sees this as an opportune time to turn her performance around.

During the first round of the 2024 CPKC Women’s Open at Earl Grey Golf Club, Ko shot a 1-under 71, placing her at 3 under overall and three shots behind the lead. She is currently tied with Jennifer Kupcho and Lilia Vu, setting the stage for a potential comeback and a chance to secure her spot in the Hall of Fame. Ko recognizes the significance of performing well in tournaments like the CPKC Women’s Open, given the major events that are coming up in the future.

Having faced a dry spell in terms of top finishes in recent months, Ko remains optimistic and focused on playing her best golf. She believes that if it is meant to be for her to be a Hall of Famer, it will happen, and she is not letting the pressure of reaching that milestone affect her performance. With important tournaments like the Olympics and British Open approaching, Ko sees this as an opportunity to showcase her skills and potentially secure her place in the Hall of Fame.

With her recent performances lacking top-10 finishes, Ko is determined to turn things around and make a strong comeback on the LPGA tour. She remains focused on playing her best golf and not letting the pressure of achieving Hall of Fame status affect her mindset. As she competes in tournaments like the CPKC Women’s Open, Ko sees this as an ideal opportunity to showcase her talents and potentially secure her place among the elite in the LPGA Hall of Fame.
