The John Deere Classic is gearing up to be a birdie-fest, as some of the biggest names in golf will be absent for the event. Despite the lack of star power, the tournament still presents an opportunity for bettors to get in on the action. Brady Kannon, a seasoned golf bettor and commentator, is sharing his top picks for the event. With wide fairways and an easy course layout, TPC Deere Run is known for producing low scores. Over the last seven years, the average winning score has been just under 22-under par, making it a prime opportunity for players to rack up birdies.

In his analysis, Kannon is looking at key statistics like Strokes Gained: Off the Tee, Good Drives Gained, Strokes Gained: Approach, Strokes Gained: Putting (bentgrass), and Hole Proximity from 75-150 yards. These metrics will be crucial for players looking to stay competitive and go low at the John Deere Classic. Kannon also notes the correlation between TPC Deere Run and other courses like TPC River Highlands and Detroit Golf Club, where players have gone low in recent events.

Kannon’s top picks for the John Deere Classic include Sungjae Im, Adam Svensson, Daniel Berger, and Joel Dahmen. Im, who is now the tournament favorite, has a strong track record and finished third at TPC River Highlands two weeks ago. Svensson, a Canadian player with President’s Cup motivation, has performed well at Deere Run in the past. Berger, a former top-15 player, is looking to regain his elite form with a win at the tournament. Lastly, Dahmen, a consistent player with accurate tee shots, could also be a dark horse contender in the field.

Overall, the John Deere Classic presents an opportunity for bettors to capitalize on the absence of big names and potentially find value in the field. With a focus on key statistics and player form, Kannon’s picks offer a mix of favorites and longshots to watch out for at the event. As the tournament gets underway, fans and bettors alike will be keeping a close eye on these players to see who can come out on top at TPC Deere Run.
