Par-3 golf is at the forefront of the golfing world, with short courses becoming increasingly popular due to their fun and exciting nature. The USGA’s decision to allow ratings for courses as short as 750 yards has further validated the appeal of par-3 golf. One course in Arizona, Grass Clippings at Rolling Hills, has taken advantage of this trend by transforming Rolling Hills Golf Course into a cutting-edge facility. With a $15 million investment, Grass Clippings at Rolling Hills now offers night play, a lit practice range with Toptracer technology, and other modern amenities.

Grass Clippings at Rolling Hills is more than just a golf course; it serves as the venue for The Grass League, the world’s first high-stakes par-3 golf league. Founded by Jake and Jimmy Hoselton, Pete Wilson, and Connor Riley, The Grass League hosts competitive tournaments in a team-based format, featuring both amateur and professional players. The Troon Access GL Championship, presented by GolfNow, is one of the league’s flagship events, attracting thousands of spectators with its unique format and party atmosphere.

The Troon Access GL Championship will feature 44 two-person teams competing in a 36-hole scramble under the lights at Rolling Hills. Spectators can enjoy a beer garden, hospitality tents, food trucks, live music, and a daily after-party for a $20 admission fee. The tournament promises an action-packed experience for both players and fans, with unobstructed views of the competition from start to finish. With the support of team owners and investors like U.S. Open champion Wyndham Clark and Los Angeles Dodgers’ manager Dave Roberts, The Grass League is poised for continued growth.

The Grass League offers players and fans a unique platform to engage with golf in a new and exciting way. With live coverage on NBC Peacock and plans to expand their tournament schedule, The Grass League is at the forefront of innovation in the sport. Players from all backgrounds, including LPGA professionals, YouTube influencers, and past PGA Tour winners, have the opportunity to showcase their skills and compete for a share of the tournament purse. The league’s founders believe that full-time participation in The Grass League is not far off, providing a viable career path for aspiring golfers.

Overall, The Grass League and events like the Troon Access GL Championship are redefining golf and attracting a new generation of players and fans. With its fast-paced gameplay, high-stakes competition, and engaging format, The Grass League offers a fresh take on traditional golf tournaments. As the league continues to grow and gain exposure, it is poised to become a premier destination for golfers looking to sharpen their skills, make a living playing golf, and enjoy a dynamic, competitive experience on the course.
