High School Sports Roundup: Oct. 27-Nov. 1, 2025

As the high school sports season intensifies, the week of October 27 to November 1, 2025, was brimming with exceptional performances across various disciplines. This roundup highlights the key results and outstanding athlete achievements, underlining the competitive spirit of local high schools. Monday Highlights: Girls Golf

On Monday, the Parrish Community girls golf team clinched the 3A Region-3 championship, marking a significant achievement following their recent district title. With a formidable score of 301, the Bulls showcased their golfing prowess by surpassing Lutz George Steinbrenner, who finished second with a score of 310. Venice secured third place with a score of 319, while Lakewood Ranch and Riverview followed, shooting 325 and 366, respectively.

Star Performances

Sophomore Evyn Cannon from Venice distinguished herself as the individual medalist, posting an impressive score of 72. Parrish’s junior, Natalie Angelo, trailed closely behind with a 73 for second place, while fellow Parrish junior Phoenix Scanlan shot a 74, tying for third. Ella Gardner, a junior at Venice, rounded out the top five with a score of 75. Cannon’s performance not only earned her individual accolades but also a spot at the upcoming 3A state championship.

Monday Highlights: Boys Golf

Shifting focus to the boys’ scene, the Saint Stephen’s Episcopal boys golf team triumphed in the 1A Region-3 championship, winning by a mere stroke. Their final score of 300 narrowly edged out Cambridge Christian (301) and Bishop Verot (305), showcasing the competitiveness of the match.

Junior Eddie Gu from Saint Stephen’s and freshman Niko Gordic-Ronderos of Cardinal Mooney both tallied scores of 71, tying for second place at the individual level.
