The newest LIV Golf event is set to take place in Nashville, Tennessee, featuring not only golf champion Bryson DeChambeau but also a hefty prize purse of $25 million. This event will mark the first-ever LIV Nashville tournament, with $20 million allocated for individual winnings and $5 million for the team competition. The winner of the individual competition will take home $4 million, while the victorious team will earn $3 million.

Nashville will host the ninth tournament on LIV’s 14-event schedule, with play running from Friday to Sunday. Saturday is already sold out, but tickets for other days are still available. The tournament will feature a no-cut format with 54 individuals and 13 teams, starting each day with a 12:15 p.m. shotgun start.

LIV Golf, established in 2021 and officially launched in 2022, is a professional men’s golf circuit owned by the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia. Known for its generous tournament payouts and large financial contracts, LIV has attracted former PGA Tour members and major championship winners like DeChambeau, Sergio Garcia, Dustin Johnson, and Phil Mickelson, among others. This has led to a heated rivalry with the PGA Tour, prompting talks of a potential merger that has yet to materialize.

While complete player groupings for Nashville have not been released, DeChambeau is confirmed to participate in the event. Jon Rahm, who withdrew from the U.S. Open due to a toe injury, is scheduled to take part in a pre-tournament media session. The purse for the LIV Golf Nashville event includes a total of $20 million for individuals and $5 million for teams, with varying prize amounts for each position.

Individual winnings range from $4 million for the winner to $50,000 for those finishing in the 52nd to 54th positions. Team payouts will also be awarded based on performance, with the top team securing $3 million. The event promises exciting golf action and the chance to see top players compete for substantial prize money in the vibrant city of Nashville.

In conclusion, the LIV Golf Nashville tournament offers a significant prize purse, attracting top golf talent and offering fans an opportunity to witness thrilling competition in a new setting. As LIV continues to make its mark in the golf world, events like this highlight the league’s commitment to providing a competitive and rewarding platform for players and fans alike. Nashville’s debut as a host city for LIV Golf promises to be an exciting addition to the tour’s schedule, showcasing the city’s vibrant culture and love for the sport.
