The PGA Tour’s Player Advisory Committee for the 2025 season has been announced, with a mix of familiar faces and newcomers making up the 16-player council. The PAC plays a crucial role in advising the PGA Tour Policy Board and commissioner Jay Monahan on various issues affecting the tour. Last year, the PAC made important recommendations that influenced field sizes, allocation of FedEx Cup points, and eligibility criteria for the PGA Tour. This year’s PAC includes players like Scottie Scheffler, Justin Thomas, Rickie Fowler, Max Homa, and more.

Among the players on the PAC this year, four are serving for the first time in their careers, while others are returning from the previous season. Notable players who did not return to the PAC this year include Nick Hardy, Mackenzie Hughes, and Lanto Griffin. Camilo Villegas, who served on the PAC last year, is now a player director on the policy board. The PAC will elect a chairman at a later date, giving the players an opportunity to take on leadership roles within the committee.

In addition to the announcement of the PAC members, Justin Thomas recently sent a letter to fellow players urging them to be more open to providing access and insight to the media. Thomas emphasized the importance of player interviews and mic’d up segments in allowing fans to connect with players and better understand their craft. Despite previously being opposed to being mic’d up during a round, Thomas has since participated in such activities and believes they can enhance the viewing experience for fans.

As a returning member of the PAC for the second consecutive year, Justin Thomas will be instrumental in shaping the future of the PGA Tour. With his newfound perspective on media access and player insights, Thomas aims to improve the telecast experience for fans and enhance the overall viewing experience of golf tournaments. By actively participating in the PAC and advocating for greater media access, Thomas is contributing to the ongoing evolution of the PGA Tour and its engagement with fans.

Overall, the composition of the 2025 PGA Tour Player Advisory Committee showcases a diverse group of players with a mix of experiences and perspectives. From seasoned veterans to newcomers, the PAC members will collaborate to address important issues impacting the PGA Tour and make recommendations that may shape the future of professional golf. With Justin Thomas leading the charge in advocating for enhanced media access, the PAC members have a unique opportunity to influence the way fans interact with the sport and deepen their connection to the players. The PAC’s role in advising the Policy Board and commissioner Jay Monahan underscores the importance of player input in driving positive changes within the PGA Tour.
