Yubin Jang, the top-ranked Korean amateur golfer, has recently signed with LIV Golf, a move that has transitioned him from potentially pursuing a career on the PGA Tour to joining Kevin Na’s Iron Heads team. At just 22 years old, Jang has already made a name for himself in the golfing world by winning two titles and five runner-up finishes in 2024, leading him to be named the KPGA Player of the Year. This accomplishment also earned him a spot in the final stage of the 2024 PGA Tour Q-School.

Despite being ranked 135th in the Official World Golf Ranking, Jang had plans to participate in the Q-School’s final stage in hopes of making it onto the PGA Tour. However, he has since withdrawn from the competition after signing with LIV Golf. Kevin Na, the team captain of the Iron Heads and a successful PGA Tour player himself, expressed his excitement about adding Jang to the team, noting his potential to become a world-class golfer. Na believes that Jang’s presence on the team will inspire other young Korean golfers to compete on a global scale, ultimately boosting Korean golf.

The Iron Heads faced challenges in the 2024 LIV regular season, entering the LIV Dallas team championship event in 13th place. Despite this, they delivered an impressive performance and ultimately finished in second place. Returning team members Jinichiro Kozuma and Danny Lee have signed on for the 2025 season, with Jang taking the spot previously held by Scott Vincent. The upcoming 2025 LIV Golf season is set to kick off in Saudi Arabia on February 7th, marking a new beginning for Jang and the Iron Heads team.

Overall, signing with LIV Golf has opened up new opportunities for Yubin Jang, allowing him to showcase his talents on a global stage alongside seasoned professionals like Kevin Na. By joining the Iron Heads team, Jang not only adds depth to the roster but also provides inspiration for young Korean golfers looking to make their mark in the golfing world. The upcoming 2025 LIV Golf season promises to be an exciting journey for Jang and the Iron Heads as they aim to build on their successes and compete at the highest level of professional golf.
