Former NHL and NBA executive Scott O’Neil is set to take over as CEO of LIV Golf as the league enters its fourth season, replacing the turbulent reign of Greg Norman. Norman, a former PGA Tour winner and world No. 1, clashed with multiple organizations and made controversial claims about the league’s growth. O’Neil has a background as the CEO of the Philadelphia 76ers and the New Jersey Devils, bringing valuable experience to the role.

Despite facing challenges in gaining traction in the sports universe, LIV Golf has announced 10 of the expected 14 events for the upcoming season. Returning tournaments include LIV Golf Chicago, LIV Golf Dallas, LIV Golf Andalucia, and LIV Golf UK. New venues in Korea and Indiana will host events for the first time, expanding the league’s reach.

The known events on the LIV Golf schedule for 2025 include tournaments in Riyadh, Adelaide, Hong Kong, Singapore, Korea, Dallas, Andalucia, UK, Chicago, and Indianapolis. These events span across various locations worldwide, showcasing the global presence of LIV Golf and providing opportunities for players to compete in diverse settings.

LIV Golf’s impact on the PGA Tour has been significant, with the tour increasing its purses and investing billions into the game through strategic partnerships. The Player Impact Program and signature events have allowed players like Scottie Scheffler to earn substantial prize money and bonuses, contributing to the growth of professional golf.

The on-course success of LIV Golf players has also been notable, with Jon Rahm winning the 2024 individual championship and Bryson DeChambeau claiming a major championship at the U.S. Open. Previous LIV Golf champions include Talor Gooch and Dustin Johnson, showcasing the competitive talent within the league.

With the addition of Scott O’Neil as CEO, LIV Golf aims to continue its expansion and establish a stronger presence in the sports industry. The league’s focus on international events and partnerships with top players has created excitement among fans and players alike, positioning LIV Golf as a key player in the world of professional golf.

As LIV Golf looks ahead to the upcoming season, the organization is committed to delivering high-quality events and showcasing the talents of its roster of players. With a diverse schedule of tournaments in various countries, the league continues to push boundaries and redefine the traditional golf landscape, creating new opportunities for both players and fans alike.
