Review of the MGI Zip X1 Electric Caddy

The MGI Zip X1 electric caddy is a newly designed product from Australian-based company MGI Golf that offers a combination of beauty and function in simplicity. While some may be disappointed that the Zip X1 does not have a remote control feature, the lack of a remote actually provides a sense of ease and convenience for the user. The X1 is powered by a 24-volt lithium battery with 250Wh, allowing it to be used for 36 holes or more in one day without running out of juice. If the battery does run out, the large back wheels can be put in free-rolling mode to finish the round. At a suggested retail price of $699, the X1 is an affordable option compared to other electric caddies on the market.

Operating the Zip X1 is simple and easy, with a T-bar handle, a control wheel, and a digital screen on the top. The user can easily push a button to make the caddy go and adjust the speed by turning the control wheel. Despite not having a remote control, the X1 is easy to steer and navigate on the course, offering a comfortable pace and direction adjustments. The physical burden of pushing a manual push cart is lifted off the golfer with the use of an electric caddy, leading to less fatigue and a more enjoyable round of golf.

One advantage of not having a remote control is that the user is always close to the caddy, allowing for easy stabilization on steep terrain. The X1 can handle climbing hills with ease, saving the user a significant amount of effort. Setting up the caddy is quick and easy, with a simple folding and unfolding process that can be done in under 10 seconds. The battery snaps into place effortlessly, and the unit can be easily folded back down for transport. However, the trickiest part of setting up the caddy is ensuring that the golf bag fits securely on the unit, as not all bags are the same height or a good fit for the X1.

Accessories such as an umbrella holder, cup holder, and phone/GPS holder can be added to the X1 for additional convenience. Other available accessories include a mounted seat, sand bottle holder, weather protector, storage bag, and cooler bag. The X1 weighs approximately 27 pounds with the battery included, making it easy to transport and handle. Overall, an electric caddy like the Zip X1 can be a game changer for golfers, providing a more enjoyable and less tiring experience on the course. With the convenience and ease of use that the X1 offers, golfers can focus more on their game and less on the physical demands of pushing a cart.
