TaylorMade is well-known for producing top-of-the-line golf equipment, especially in the metalwood category. The Qi35 fairway wood is the newest addition to the TaylorMade lineup, following the impressive performance of the Qi10 fairway woods released earlier. The Qi35 has undergone major cosmetic changes, featuring a new chromium carbon fiber finish that enhances its overall aesthetic appeal. This new carbon material is part of an advanced multi-material construction that includes steel and aluminum, providing not only a visually appealing design but also performance benefits.

Priced at £309, the Qi35 fairway wood is part of the TaylorMade Qi35 lineup, which includes four models catering to different types of players. The Qi35 Max and Max Lite models are designed for golfers seeking forgiveness and a draw-bias ball flight, while the Qi35 Tour model is geared towards confident ball strikers who desire maximum ball flight control. The main technological advancement in the Qi35 fairway woods is the revised CG location, which is placed lower and further back compared to previous models. This results in a greater area of opportunity for effortless launch with less spin, ultimately leading to more distance.

Through testing at Foresight Sports HQ and on the golf course, the Qi35 fairway wood has proven to be a reliable performer. The rounded head shape and shallow face inspire confidence at address, while the black detailing and silver etched line aid alignment. With an average ball speed of 156mph, launch angle of 12°, and spin of 3259rpm, the Qi35 fairway wood offers impressive distance and playability. The 4° loft sleeve allows for customization of loft to control trajectory and spin, making it versatile for different playing conditions.

The feel of the Qi35 fairway wood is described as muted yet powerful, with a soft and compressed sensation upon impact. The new chromium carbon crown enhances the muted acoustics, creating a satisfying ‘thud’ through impact. From a visual standpoint, the Qi35 fairway wood stands out with its modern matte carbon fiber crown design and glossy tones on the sole, giving it an ultra-premium look. Whether tested indoors or outdoors, the performance of the Qi35 fairway wood remains consistently impressive, making it a strong contender for golfers in search of a new fairway wood.

In conclusion, the TaylorMade Qi35 fairway wood offers a blend of stunning aesthetics and exceptional performance. With its advanced multi-material construction, revised CG location, and customizable loft sleeve, the Qi35 delivers impressive distance, forgiveness, and control. Whether you’re a beginner seeking forgiveness or a seasoned player looking for maximum ball flight control, the Qi35 lineup has a model to suit your needs. Overall, the TaylorMade Qi35 fairway wood is a top choice for golfers looking for a reliable and versatile option in the fairway wood category.
