The Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail, located in Alabama, is a collection of championship golf courses designed by the legendary architect himself. The project was spearheaded by David G. Bronner, CEO of Retirement Systems of Alabama, as a way to boost the economic fortunes of the state and offer affordable, accessible golf. Robert Trent Jones Sr., known for designing over 500 courses worldwide, took on the monumental task in the early 1990s and created a golfing haven that spans over 100 miles with 11 different locations and 468 holes.

One of the original stops on the Trail is Magnolia Grove, a golfing oasis with 54 holes nestled in the woods with stunning marshes, creeks, and lakes. The Crossings course at Magnolia Grove has played host to events on both the LPGA Tour and the Korn Ferry Tour, showcasing its championship-worthy design and strategic challenge. The Falls course, its 18-hole sibling, stands out as the only par-71 course on the Trail with undulating greens and cloverleaf bunkers that make for a unique playing experience.

Magnolia Grove benefits from its location near the Gulf of Mexico, enjoying balmy weather and proximity to beaches, making it a popular destination for golfers of all levels. Recent renovations at the Crossings course have enhanced its visual appeal with new water features and crushed-oyster shell waste areas, while modifications at the Falls course have made it more player-friendly without sacrificing the original design. Both courses offer a scenic and entertaining golf experience that caters to a wide range of players, from Tour pros to recreational golfers based on the tees they choose to play from.

The Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail continues to grow in recognition as a premier golf destination known for its high-quality courses, affordability, and accessibility. Magnolia Grove exemplifies these qualities with its stunning setting, championship-worthy layout, and recent renovations that have further elevated the golfing experience. Whether you’re a serious golfer looking for a challenge or a casual player seeking a memorable round, Magnolia Grove offers something for everyone, making it a must-visit destination on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail. With its rich history, world-class design, and breathtaking scenery, Magnolia Grove is a golfing paradise that showcases the enduring legacy of Robert Trent Jones Sr. and the vision of David G. Bronner in creating a golfing mecca in the heart of Alabama.
