The final Monday qualifiers approaching as registration closes for WM Phoenix Open

The WM Phoenix Open is a prestigious golf event held at TPC Scottsdale, known for being the Greenest Show on Grass, and the final time to qualify for this event under the current rules is approaching. The pre-qualifying registration for the 2025 WM Phoenix Open went live recently, with eight locations in five different cities in Arizona hosting events to determine players who will move on to the Monday qualifier on Feb. 3. Only the top three finishers from the Monday qualifier will earn a spot in the tournament, making this a highly competitive and crucial opportunity for aspiring golfers.

The Southwest Section PGA, which has overseen the pre-qualifying and Monday qualifying events for years, is advising interested golfers to register promptly as the available spots are expected to fill up fast. Earlier this year, the Phoenix Open qualifier drew a significant number of participants following a large turnout for the pre-qualifiers, emphasizing the competitiveness of the field. With a maximum size of 84 players per pre-qualifier and a total of eight locations, there is potential for up to 672 golfers vying for a chance to participate in this prestigious event.

Registration for the pre-qualifiers is limited to one site per golfer, as per PGA Tour rules. The pre-qualifying sites include well-known golf courses such as McCormick Ranch GC and Toka Sticks Golf Club in Scottsdale, The 500 Club and The Legend at Arrowhead in Glendale, Dobson Ranch Golf Course and Lone Tree Golf Club in Mesa, and Aguila Golf Course in Laveen. The diversity in location offers players from different areas in Arizona the opportunity to compete and showcase their skills on a variety of courses.

The final qualifying stage for the 2025 WM Phoenix Open will take place on Feb. 3 at Pinnacle Peak Country Club in Scottsdale. This event will determine the top finishers who will secure a coveted spot in the tournament, adding an extra layer of excitement to the qualifying process. Golfers interested in participating in the pre-qualifiers can find more information and register on the Southwest Section PGA’s website, where they can also view detailed information about each pre-qualifying site and the registration process.

As the golfing community eagerly anticipates the upcoming 2025 WM Phoenix Open, the pre-qualifying and Monday qualifying stages serve as crucial opportunities for talented players to secure their place in this prestigious event. With the new rule changes implemented by the PGA Tour, this marks the final time that golfers will have the chance to qualify for the Phoenix Open under the current format. The competition is expected to be fierce, as players from across Arizona vie for the chance to compete at TPC Scottsdale and be part of the Greenest Show on Grass.
