Tiger Woods Renews Partnership with Bridgestone Golf for Golf Ball Deal

January is a significant time for professional golfers as it is when many of them sign new equipment deals or renew existing ones. Recently, Tiger Woods, the legendary 15-time Major winner, announced that he has extended his contract with Bridgestone, his golf ball sponsor. Woods has been using Bridgestone golf balls for an impressive 25 years and continues to use their Tour B X model. In a statement, Woods praised Bridgestone for their innovation, performance, and consistency in the golf ball category, expressing his excitement to continue working with their research and development team.

While Woods was primarily a Nike staffer throughout his career, wearing their clothing and playing their golf balls during his dominant years in the 2000s, it was actually Bridgestone who produced the Nike Tour Accuracy golf ball that he used. The Tour Accuracy, which had a unique three-piece construction with a rubber core and urethane cover, played a key role in Woods’ success during his memorable 2000 season where he won three Majors. This was a departure from what many of his rivals were using at the time, as they opted for liquid-filled cores and wound constructions.

Currently, Woods uses the Bridgestone Tour B X model, joining a roster of talented players who also use Bridgestone golf balls. Other players who have recently signed contract extensions with Bridgestone include Matt Kuchar, Chris Gotterup, and Fred Couples, who is a close friend of Woods. Additionally, Bridgestone boasts a roster of other high-profile staffers including Jason Day, Takumi Kanaya, and Ayaka Furue, a recent Major winner who also uses Bridgestone golf clubs.

By choosing to stay with Bridgestone, Woods has reaffirmed his trust in the brand’s commitment to excellence and innovation in golf ball technology. The partnership between Woods and Bridgestone has been a longstanding one, with both parties collaborating closely to design industry-leading golf balls that meet the high standards set by a player of Woods’ caliber. This extension serves as a testament to the success and mutual respect that has been cultivated between Woods and Bridgestone over the years.

In a sport where equipment plays a crucial role in performance, the choice of golf ball can make a significant difference for professional golfers. With his decision to continue using Bridgestone golf balls, Woods is not only maintaining a tradition that has been a part of his game for over two decades but also signaling his confidence in the brand’s ability to deliver superior performance on the course. As Woods gears up for the upcoming season, his partnership with Bridgestone is bound to continue yielding success on the greens and fairways for both him and the brand.
