The 2024 U.S. Adaptive Open is underway at Sand Creek Station in Newton, Kansas, featuring 96 of the best disabled golfers in the world. This marks the third edition of the championship, which has now hit the road for the first time after being held at Pinehurst No. 6 in North Carolina for the past two years. This year, players had to qualify for the event, with six qualifiers held across the country to determine the field.

The competition is divided into eight categories: Upper Limb Impairment, Intellectual Impairment, Lower Limb Impairment, Multiple Limb Amputee, Neurological Impairment, Seated Players, Short Stature, and Vision Impairment. The championship provides a platform for adaptive golfers to showcase their skills and compete at the highest level on a national stage.

On the eve of the tournament, players engaged in the final round of practice to fine-tune their skills before the opening round. The event has drawn attention not only for the level of competition but also for the camaraderie and sportsmanship displayed by the participants.

The 2024 U.S. Adaptive Open has featured some standout performances, with players like Jordan Thomas, Cathy Walch, Thomas Duffy, Austin Brown, Alex Fourie, Eli Villanueva, Ryan Brenden, and others showcasing their talent on the course. These athletes have overcome various challenges and disabilities to excel in the sport of golf, inspiring others with their determination and passion for the game.

Photos from the event capture the intensity and focus of the competitors as they navigate the course and take on the challenges presented to them. Participants like Issa A Amang Nlareb, Ann Hayes, Max Togisala, Brendan Lawlor, Joshua Williams, and Sophia Howard have all demonstrated their skills and resilience in pursuit of victory.

The U.S. Adaptive Open serves as a platform for adaptive golfers to connect, compete, and inspire each other in a supportive and inclusive environment. The event not only highlights the talent and dedication of these athletes but also raises awareness about the importance of adaptive sports and the opportunities they provide for individuals with disabilities to participate in competitive athletics.

As the championship unfolds, spectators and fans can expect to witness incredible displays of skill, perseverance, and sportsmanship from the participants. The 2024 U.S. Adaptive Open is a celebration of the human spirit and the power of sport to unite people from diverse backgrounds in the pursuit of a common goal: excellence in competition and camaraderie.
