Caitlin Clark came to Florida’s west coast for a much-anticipated appearance in The Annika’s Wednesday pro-am. As a 16 handicap, she aimed to play the nine holes with tournament host Annika Sorenstam and the other nine with World No. 1 Nelly Korda without hitting anyone with a golf ball. Clark revealed that golf is just one of many sports she played growing up, alongside soccer, softball, track, and basketball. She eventually chose basketball as her future despite excelling in multiple sports.

As a point guard for the WNBA, Clark has a strict schedule to organize her offseason weeks and stay accountable. She plans out her weeks on Sundays, writing down her workouts and activities on pen and paper. Clark finds solace in playing golf, especially when she can be outdoors, unlike basketball, which takes place indoors in different seasons. She admires Rory McIlroy and recalls watching him growing up, using a pink golf club set given to her on her birthday.

Clark attributes her drive to be the best and her ability to be honest and real with herself as the key factors that set her apart. She acknowledges the changes in her stardom, going from playing in front of 300 people to packed stadiums by her senior year. Despite her rise to fame, Clark remains grounded and true to herself, maintaining the same persona she had growing up. She believes that staying true to herself is what keeps people loving and relating to her.

Clark’s approach to golf and life is a testament to her dedication and work ethic, qualities that have propelled her to success in the WNBA. She has embraced the challenges of golf and continues to push herself to improve, even as she juggles a demanding basketball career. As a rising star in women’s sports, Caitlin Clark’s journey serves as an inspiration to aspiring athletes, showcasing the importance of hard work, determination, and authenticity in achieving one’s goals.
