Amateur golfer Rosie Belsham has recently secured a significant sponsorship deal with Matfen Hall, a prestigious five-star luxury country hotel and golf estate. This collaboration is a turning point in Rosie’s career, providing her with access to world-class facilities and support that will help her compete at the highest levels of the sport. The sponsorship includes funding for Rosie to participate in the Lalla Aicha Qualifying School and compete in tournaments across the continent.

In addition to financial support, Matfen Hall will also cover some of Rosie’s travel and accommodation expenses, as well as providing her with access to their state-of-the-art gym and spa facilities. The property is also working on securing premium golf apparel and leisurewear for Rosie, ensuring she maintains peak physical condition while competing. Rosie, who originally hails from Whitley Bay, began playing golf at the age of nine, balancing her time between golf and hockey.

A natural talent, Rosie’s dedication to golf led her to participate in national tournaments and eventually pursue her dreams across the Atlantic at Baylor University in Texas. Rosie reflects on her journey in golf, stating that studying and playing in the U.S. has been invaluable in shaping her as a player and reaffirming her commitment to the sport. Back in the UK, Rosie continued her training at Matfen Hall, where she initially trained under the guidance of coach JJ Vallely.

Rosie’s connection with Matfen Hall has deep roots, as she trained at the venue from ages 14 to 16 and returned after her graduation to continue her training and pursue her professional golf aspirations. Matfen Hall’s Head of Commercial Development, James O’Donnell, expressed his admiration for Rosie’s talent and passion for the game, highlighting the facility’s investment in golf and the potential to showcase the venue on an international stage through Rosie’s career.

Rosie’s immediate goals include gaining experience on the Ladies European Tour Access series and securing her Ladies European Tour (LET) card at the Qualifying School in Morocco. With the support of Matfen Hall, Rosie feels confident in her ability to focus on her game without the added pressure of financial constraints. Looking ahead, Rosie aims to join the Ladies PGA Tour in America, leveraging her experience on the Ladies European Tour as a stepping stone to broader visibility and higher prize funds.

Matfen Hall is fully committed to supporting Rosie’s journey to the professional game, with the sponsorship deal initially set for the year ahead. The collaboration between Rosie and Matfen Hall reflects a long-standing relationship based on mutual respect and shared goals for success in the world of professional golf. Rosie’s partnership with the venue will not only provide her with the resources she needs to compete but also showcase her talent on an international stage, benefiting both parties in their respective endeavors.
