Scottie Scheffler recently won the Travelers Championship in Cromwell, Connecticut after a disappointing showing at the U.S. Open. Scheffler shot a final round five-under 65 to get into a playoff with Tom Kim, ultimately winning on the first playoff hole. One of the keys to his success was his gear setup, which included Srixon Z U85 utility irons and Titleist Vokey Design wedges. However, one of the most interesting aspects of Scheffler’s equipment is his TaylorMade P7TW irons, which were originally made for Tiger Woods.

Scheffler’s use of the TaylorMade P7TW irons is not common on the PGA Tour, as they were specifically designed for Woods’ game. The irons feature a classic blade design with a compact shape and thin topline, offering excellent feel and control for skilled players like Scheffler. Despite their association with Woods, Scheffler has found success with them on the course, showcasing the versatility of these clubs for different players’ needs.

In addition to the TaylorMade P7TW irons, Scheffler relies on a mix of Srixon and Titleist clubs in his bag. His Srixon Z U85 utility irons provide versatility and forgiveness for long game shots, while his Titleist Vokey Design wedges offer precision and spin control around the greens. This well-rounded mix of clubs allows Scheffler to cover all aspects of his game with confidence, helping him secure victories on the PGA Tour.

Scheffler’s recent win at the Travelers Championship demonstrates the importance of having the right equipment in professional golf. While some players may opt for custom-designed clubs like the TaylorMade P7TW irons, others may prefer a mix of brands to suit their playing style. Ultimately, the key to success lies in finding the right balance of technology, feel, and performance in one’s golf bag.

As Scheffler continues to make his mark on the PGA Tour, his equipment choices will undoubtedly play a crucial role in his success. By utilizing a combination of TaylorMade, Srixon, and Titleist clubs, Scheffler has found a winning formula that works for his game. Whether it’s the precision of the TaylorMade P7TW irons or the versatility of the Srixon utility irons, each club in Scheffler’s bag serves a specific purpose in helping him achieve victory on the course.

In the competitive world of professional golf, every advantage counts, and having the right equipment can make a significant difference in a player’s performance. With the right clubs in his bag, Scottie Scheffler has proven that he has what it takes to compete at the highest level and come out on top. As he continues to hone his game and perfect his gear setup, Scheffler is poised to achieve even greater success in the future, solidifying his place among the top players in the sport.
