8 Prominent Players Who Didn’t Make the Cut at the 2024 Genesis Scottish Open

Swedish golfer Ludvig Aberg is leading the 2024 Genesis Scottish Open after two rounds with impressive back-to-back scores of 6-under 64. Antoine Rozner is one shot behind at 11 under, with Matteo Manassero and Sungjae Im tied for fourth at 10 under. Notable players like Collin Morikawa, Rory McIlroy, and Sahith Theegala are also in contention at 9 under.

Despite the strong field, several PGA Tour stars missed the cut at the tournament. Hideki Matsuyama, who had previously made 14 cuts in a row, failed to make it to the weekend. Sepp Straka of Austria missed his sixth cut in 19 starts this season, while Luke Donald, the European Ryder Cup captain, fell one shot short of the cutline.

Former major champions Jordan Spieth and Justin Rose also missed the cut at the Genesis Scottish Open. Spieth’s last top-20 finish came in May, while Rose will now head to Royal Liverpool after qualifying for The Open. Other American players like Billy Horschel, Will Zalatoris, and Rickie Fowler also missed the cut, with Zalatoris withdrawing from a previous event due to a hip injury.

While the top of the leaderboard is dominated by Aberg and Rozner, the Scottish Open has seen a mix of rising stars and established names vying for the title. With the tournament reaching its final rounds, all eyes will be on the leaders as they look to secure a victory on the Scottish links. The Genesis Scottish Open continues to be a premier event on the European Tour, attracting top talent from around the world. Fans can expect exciting action and drama as the tournament concludes.
