Wilson has recently introduced its new Staff Model RB utility, targeting better players seeking a versatile option in the gap between fairway woods and long irons. The club comes in three loft options – 18, 21, and 24 degrees, with input from Wilson Advisory Staff members like Padraig Harrington, who is currently using the club. The RB features a thin topline and sleek design favored by better players, with weight strategically distributed to the toe and sole for improved forgiveness and resistance to twisting. The high-strength C300 maraging steel face is hollow-bodied for increased ball speed and aerodynamics, with rib structures within the head for better stability and performance on mishits.
Wilson boasts improved acoustics on the hollow-bodied design, enhancing the overall feel and sound at impact for golfers. Bob Thurman, Global General Manager of Golf and Vice President of Research & Development at Wilson, stated that professional athletes and elite amateurs who tested the club praised its soft feel at impact and optimized ball flight, making it an easy-to-hit distance club. The Staff Model RB will be priced at $249.99, with lofts of 18, 21, and 24 degrees, and will be available for retail purchase starting July 9th. Stock shaft and grip options include the Project X HZRDUS GEN 4 Black and Golf Pride Z Grip, respectively.
