This Week’s PNC Championship Features 20 Amateur Players

The PNC Championship is an exciting event in the golf world that showcases successful professional players teaming up with their amateur family members. This 20-team tournament features Major champions and winners of the PGA Tour’s flagship event, The Players Championship, competing in a 36-hole scramble. The tournament has gained popularity in recent years, especially with the participation of legendary golfer Tiger Woods and his son Charlie. Other big draws include World No.1 Nelly Korda and five-time PNC Championship winner Bernhard Langer.

Charlie Woods, son of Tiger Woods, has become a well-known name in the golf community, showcasing his talent and impressive golf swing. Other notable participants include Petr Korda, father of Nelly and Jessica, who is a Major champion in tennis. John Daly II, son of John Daly, is also making a name for himself in golf, having won the PNC Championship in 2021. Matt Kuchar’s youngest son, Carson, is a solid golfer with promising skills in tennis.

Jason Langer, son of Bernhard Langer, has had success in the PNC Championship, winning the title multiple times. Connor Cink, son of Stewart Cink, won the event in 2013. Qass Singh, son of Vijay Singh, is a past champion and a fine player himself. Annika Sorenstam, a legendary golfer, is making her fifth PNC Championship appearance alongside her son Will McGee. Izzi Stricker, daughter of Steve Stricker, has caddied for her father and has a promising future in golf.

Brady Duval, son of David Duval, is a promising junior golfer with several wins under his belt. Matthew Faldo, son of Sir Nick Faldo, is involved in his father’s junior tour and has played in the PNC Championship multiple times. Jacob Immelman, son of the 2008 Masters champion, will make his debut in the tournament this year. Sean Lehman, son of Tom Lehman, is a multi-sport athlete currently playing golf at Cal Poly University. Luke Leonard, son of Justin Leonard, is a promising player committed to Villanova University.

Shaun O’Meara, son of Mark O’Meara, has competed in the PNC Championship multiple times alongside his father. Paddy Harrington, son of Padraig Harrington, finished fourth in his debut in 2022 and will be competing again this year. Greg Price, son of former World No.1 Nick Price, has played in the event with his father since 2021. Daniel Trevino, grandson of Lee Trevino, is the co-founder of SUPER MEX golf apparel and has had success in the tournament. Alexander Hall, grandson of Gary Player, and Hunter Hannemann, step-son of Fred Couples, are also participating in the 2024 PNC Championship.
