The Sony Open in Hawaii has captured the attention of golf fans around the world as Patrick Fishburn and Denny McCarthy lead the pack at 10-under-par. With multiple big names within striking distance, the excitement is building as the tournament reaches the halfway stage. Players like Zach Johnson, Sepp Straka, Tom Kim, and Brian Harman are all in contention, setting the stage for an exciting weekend of golf.

Unfortunately, a cut was in place at the Waialae Country Club, leading to the elimination of several players who failed to make the three-under-par cutline. Amongst those who missed out were recent PGA Tour winners like Patton Kizzire and Rafael Campos, as well as multiple Presidents Cup stars and upcoming talents in the sport. The competition is fierce as players strive to make their mark at the Sony Open in Hawaii.

One player who fell short of making the cut was Billy Horschel, who had a strong 2024 season with wins at the Corales Puntacana Championship and BMW PGA Championship. Despite a slow start to the year, Horschel remains a formidable competitor and will be looking to bounce back in the coming events. Byeong-Hun An, another player who missed the cut, had a promising 2024 season with a win at the Genesis Championship but fell short at the Sony Open due to a slow start.

Si Woo Kim, the 2023 Sony Open champion, also failed to make the cut this year after posting rounds of 71 and 67. Daniel Berger, who had a strong finish to 2024 with top-10 finishes at the Sanderson Farms Championship and RSM Classic, missed the cut by one stroke after finishing at two-under-par. The competition is fierce as players like Corey Conners, Luke Clanton, and Mackenzie Hughes also fell short of making the cut at the Sony Open in Hawaii.

As the tournament progresses, fans can expect to see intense competition as players fight for the top spot on the leaderboard. With the likes of Fishburn, McCarthy, Johnson, and Straka all in contention, the final rounds of the Sony Open promise to deliver thrilling moments on the course. Stay tuned for more updates on the PGA Tour and the exciting action unfolding at the Sony Open in Hawaii.
