On Tuesday, a moment of silence was held at the SoFi Center to honor Kultida Woods, the mother of Tiger Woods, who had passed away less than 12 hours before. Kultida Woods, a key figure in Tiger’s life and success, was remembered for her unwavering support and dedication to raising her son to become a world-renowned golfer. Prior to a TGL match at the SoFi Center, a tribute was paid to Kultida Woods, who had been a constant presence in Tiger’s life throughout his career, from his early days as a young phenom in California to his major championships and the launch of the TGL league he co-founded.

During the broadcast on ESPN, clips of Kultida Woods cheering on her son Tiger during a recent match were shown, highlighting the close bond between the mother and son. Tiger Woods himself acknowledged his mother’s presence in the audience during a recent match, shouting out to her and expressing his determination to perform well in her honor. Kultida Woods was known for her unwavering support and encouragement of Tiger throughout his career, and her passing was met with sadness and condolences from the golf community.

ESPN TGL announcer Matt Barrie reflected on Kultida Woods’ impact on Tiger’s life and career, describing her as a “towering figure” who played a crucial role in shaping her son into the golfer he is today. Throughout Tiger’s career, Kultida was a constant source of support and guidance, guiding him through his amateur days and major victories. Her presence at the SoFi Center last week, cheering on Tiger as he competed in the TGL league, was a testament to her enduring support and love for her son.

In a poignant tribute, ESPN announcer Scott Van Pelt shared a heartwarming anecdote about his interactions with Kultida Woods during major championships. Van Pelt recalled how Kultida would always wear red on Sundays, and they would exchange words of encouragement and support before Tiger’s rounds. Their shared tradition symbolized the close relationship between Kultida and those who knew her, as she always maintained a positive and hopeful outlook on Tiger’s performances. The passing of Kultida Woods has left a void in the golf world, but her legacy lives on through Tiger Woods and the impact she had on his career.
