Tiger Woods made a late appearance during TGL play, a simulator-based league that he helped cofound. Despite being late, Woods made it in time and joined the show. His team, the Jupiter Links Golf Club, had already been eliminated from postseason consideration before the match with the Atlanta Drive Golf Club. This raised questions about what a playing-for-nothing-but-pride 15-time major winner would look like in the dome in South Florida.

Max Homa, one of Woods’ teammates, reminded Woods of the yardage before his first shot of the night. This was a reference to a previous incident where Woods misunderstood the yardage and hit a poor shot. Woods was poked fun at by his teammates during the match. Even Woods’ teenage son, Charlie, was seen attending the match and enjoying some chicken fingers. Woods himself requested to be thrown one.

During the game, Woods was left with a 260-yard shot on a par-5 hole. His teammate suggested laying up, but Woods requested a 5-wood and managed to hit the green. Age has not slowed down the 49-year-old golfer. Woods also shared a humorous exchange with his teammate Tom Kim about their age difference and the Masters tournaments that Woods had won before Kim was born.

Woods also spoke about his daughter, Sam, winning a state soccer championship and expressed his pride in her achievement. The match included a viral moment when Kim thought his chip would go in but it rimmed out, leading to some funny moments among the players. Despite their loss in the match, Woods did not seem too concerned and even joked about it with his teammates.

In a post-match interview, Woods revealed that his PGA Tour return is still uncertain. He had withdrawn from the Genesis Invitational after his mother’s passing and mentioned that he hasn’t been practicing much since then. Woods indicated that once he feels ready and motivated to practice, he will start looking at the tournament schedule. Overall, the match provided a glimpse into Woods’ current state and his family life, showcasing his humor and personality on and off the golf course.
