Previewing the 2026 Women’s Golf Majors: Venues and Highlights

The women’s golf scene in 2025 was filled with unforgettable moments, from Maja Stark’s stunning performance at Erin Hills to Minjee Lee’s triumph in her third major title. The excitement doesn’t pause; as we transition into a new year, golf aficionados are already looking forward to the 2026 women’s golf majors. Here’s an in-depth look at the venues for all five major championships.

Memorial Park Golf Course – 2026 Chevron Championship (April 23-26)

The Chevron Championship is on the move once again, this time to Memorial Park Golf Course in Houston, Texas. This decision follows the 2023 tournament’s controversial relocation from the Dinah Shore Tournament Course in California to The Club at Carlton Woods, also in Texas.

Memorial Park, which has been home to the PGA Tour’s Houston Open since 2021, is a par 72 layout measuring 7,292 yards. The course recently underwent a $34 million renovation, spearheaded by Tom Doak in collaboration with Brooks Koepka, thanks to generous funding from the Astros Foundation. It currently ranks No. 8 on Golfweek’s Best Public Courses in Texas.

Riviera Country Club – 2026 U.S. Women’s Open (June 4-7)

Nestled in Pacific Palisades, California, Riviera Country Club will host the prestigious U.S. Women’s Open in June 2026. This historic course, also an annual stop for the PGA Tour’s Genesis Invitational, is ranked No. 3 among Golfweek’s Best Private Courses in California.

With a par 72 layout that stretches 7,400 yards, Riviera has hosted major events including a U.S. Open, two PGA Championships, and the 2017 U.S. Amateur. Notably, it is also slated to feature in the 2028 LA Olympic Games.

Hazeltine National – 2026 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship (June 25-28)

The KPMG Women’s PGA Championship will return to Hazeltine National Golf Club in Minnesota, a famed venue that ranks No. 4 on Golfweek’s Best Private Courses in the state. Located just outside the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, Hazeltine has hosted two men’s U.S. Opens and two women’s U.S. Opens, among other prestigious events.

Designed by Robert Trent Jones and stretching 7,674 yards, Hazeltine promises a formidable challenge. In 2019, Hannah Green won her first major title here, finishing 9 under par.

Evian Resort Golf Club – 2026 Amundi Evian Championship (July 9-12)

The Amundi Evian Championship, often regarded as the women’s equivalent of the Masters, will once again take place at Evian Resort Golf Club in France. This iconic venue has hosted this major championship every year since its inception in 1984.

Originally designed as a nine-hole course, Evian underwent a transformation in the 1980s and received an $8 million renovation in 2012. With stunning views of Lake Geneva and the French Alps, the course has received both acclaim and criticism from players over the years.

Royal Lytham & St. Annes Golf Club – 2026 AIG Women’s Open (July 30-August 2)

The AIG Women’s Open returns to Royal Lytham & St. Annes Golf Club in England, marking its sixth edition at this historical venue. Having previously hosted the Women’s Open in 2018, this course is also renowned for hosting 11 men’s British Open Championships and two Ryder Cups.

Founded in 1886, the club features a layout completed in 1897, with more than 200 bunkers offering a challenge to players. Ranked No. 41 among Golfweek’s Top 100 International Courses, it has a storied history filled with remarkable champions.
