Lydia Ko is currently in Paris chasing Gold at the Olympic Games, after winning a silver medal in Rio in 2016 and a bronze medal in Tokyo in 2020. Now, three rounds into the Paris Games, she is in first place. Ko credits her success in this event to her freed-up mindset and red-hot putter, allowing her to make six birdies in a challenging round. She has been able to embrace the atmosphere of the Olympics, with large crowds and supportive fans cheering her on.

Ko has found inspiration in the story of gymnast Simone Biles, her documentary called Rising has motivated Ko to focus on what she can control and write her own ending. She deleted her Instagram account for the week to avoid distractions and turned to Netflix instead. Ko has been keeping a quote from Biles in her yardage book that reminds her to focus on what she can control and determine her fate. She hopes to follow in Biles’ footsteps and add a gold medal to her collection in Paris.

Despite being in first place, Ko acknowledges that nothing is certain in golf and that anything can happen in the final round. She remains focused on hitting quality shots and doing her best on the course, knowing that the Olympics only come around every few years. Ko is excited about the opportunity to compete for a gold medal and is determined to write her own ending to this Olympic journey.

Ko is representing New Zealand in the Paris Olympics and hopes to inspire others with her performance. She recognizes the unique opportunity that the Olympics provide for athletes to showcase their skills on a global stage. Ko has been able to soak in the experience of competing in Paris, with the support of fans and the energy of the Games driving her performance.

As Ko prepares for the final round in Paris, she reflects on her past successes and the challenges she has overcome to reach this point. She remains focused on the task at hand and is determined to give her best effort in pursuit of a gold medal. Ko’s journey at the Olympics serves as a reminder of the resilience and determination required to compete at the highest level in sports. She hopes to inspire others to pursue their dreams and write their own endings to their stories.
