Gabby Lemieux, a professional golfer from the United States, was disqualified from the Ladies European Tour Q-School in Morocco after reportedly missing her first-round tee time due to an issue with the alarm on her phone. This led to her being unable to make her 9:41am slot alongside two other players. Lemieux, who had traveled all the way from Idaho to Morocco for the tournament, had to return home without hitting a single shot in anger. This unfortunate incident occurred at the Samanah Golf by Nicklaus course, one of four sites used for the first round of LET Q-School.

The LET’s Pre-Qualifying rounds will continue, with the top players at each site progressing to the final round at Royal Golf Marrakech & Al Maaden Golf Marrakech. Despite this being Lemieux’s first disqualification at Q-School, it was not her first encounter with such an incident. She was previously disqualified from the LPGA Tour’s Q-School in August 2023 for accusing a playing partner of incorrectly replacing her ball on the green during a round. This led to the player in question receiving a two-stroke penalty.

Following the incident at the LPGA Q-School, Lemieux took to social media to call out the alleged cheater, emphasizing the importance of integrity in professional golf. However, a twist in the tale came when Lemieux discovered that she had signed an incorrect scorecard, leading to her disqualification from the tournament. Despite these setbacks, Lemieux continued to compete in various events on the ANNIKA Women’s All Pro Tour and also received sponsor exemptions to play on the Epson Tour.

The disqualification at LET Q-School highlights the challenges and competitiveness of professional golf, where even the smallest mistakes can have significant consequences. Gabby Lemieux’s experience serves as a reminder of the importance of attention to detail and adherence to rules in the sport. Moving forward, Lemieux will likely use this setback as motivation to improve and strive for success in her future endeavors on the golf course.

In conclusion, Gabby Lemieux’s disqualification at the Ladies European Tour Q-School in Morocco sheds light on the unforgiving nature of professional golf and the impact of even minor errors in the sport. Despite facing setbacks and challenges, Lemieux’s resilience and determination to continue competing demonstrate her passion for the game. As she navigates through the highs and lows of her golf career, Lemieux’s experience at Q-School serves as a valuable learning opportunity and a testament to her commitment to the sport.
